Michigan students deserve a fair basic funding system, which sends extra resources to schools with greater needs, along with strategic investments in tackling high priority problems.
Today, Michigan is one of only a handful of states that provide substantially less funding to its highest poverty districts, compared with our lowest povery districts. This lack of equity can lead to further imbalances in our educational system as a whole.
