As Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona sets a path forward to recover from the pandemic and craft an equity-driven agenda for the nation’s schools, it’s essential that he hears from those who are directly impacted by education policies: students — especially students of color and those from low-income backgrounds — in their own voices.

On June 24, The Education Trust and Chalkbeat presented In Their Voices: Students Speak with Secretary Cardona. Hear student panelists from Michigan, New York, and Tennessee as they share their own experiences of learning during a pandemic and ask the Secretary questions about the policy changes they seek in their schools, districts and communities.
