Ed Trust-Midwest on Making Michigan a Top Ten Education State
Amber Arellano, executive director of The Education Trust-Midwest, presented to the State Board of Education today about Michigan Achieves, our campaign to make Michigan a top ten education state.
“Michigan is truly at a crossroads,” Arellano said. “Leading education states have shown the way, but we’ll have to do things very differently in Michigan in the months and years ahead.”
In our May 2015 report, Michigan Achieves: Becoming a Top Ten Education State, Ed Trust-Midwest identified the research-based policy improvements needed, and indicators of progress for us to measure along the road to ensure that Michigan continues to move forward.
The presentation today came during the State Board of Education’s second meeting centered around gathering input from education leaders on how to make Michigan a top ten education state. Our full presentation is available here.
