Mary Grech, M.Ed.
Chief of Staff
Mary Grech, chief of staff, supports planning and alignment across teams in order to drive the organization’s work forward and increase strategic impact on behalf of Michigan’s most underserved students. She also leads special projects regarding high-leverage equity issues. Prior to this role, she previously served as a senior data and policy analyst supporting qualitative and quantitative research initiatives at the Education Trust-Midwest.
Grech began her career as an elementary school teacher in Dayton, Ohio where she worked with students to strengthen their early literacy skills. Her time in the classroom further developed her passion for improving educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds and for connecting practitioners’ expertise to the policy design process.
A Michigan native, Grech holds a Bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
