Charlotte Pierce
Senior Policy Analyst
Charlotte Pierce is a Senior Policy Analyst at The Education Trust-Midwest.
Prior to joining ETM, Charlotte worked in different areas of youth outreach and education, like summer youth employment programs and higher education finance consulting, which showed her the many approaches used to tackle challenges in education. Determined to understand how education policy impacts students’ day-to-day lives, Charlotte joined the Michigan College Advising Corps as a college adviser at Battle Creek Central High School. Working with students on their postsecondary plans and navigating college applications, financial aid forms, and career pathways was integral to her understanding of how policies can help or hinder student success. Her time in Battle Creek solidified her choice to build a career based on dismantling systemic barriers in education, especially for students of color and low-income students.
Charlotte holds a Master of Public Policy from the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, where she concentrated in youth and education policy and minored in gender studies.
Charlotte enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and exploring new restaurants in her free time.
