The Skillman Foundation voices support for “Accountability for All”
The Skillman Foundation is pleased to support the EducationTrust Midwest report: Accountability for All: The need for real charter school accountability in Michigan.
Kristen McDonald, Vice President for Program & Policy said, “Twenty years after the launch of charter schools in Michigan, it is time to examine what is working and what is not. This report rightly acknowledges authorizers who are working to scale high quality schools that help students grow academically and calls out the bad actors who intentionally replicate failing models.”
“The educational landscape in Michigan can be tough to understand. This report card, which emphasizes the importance of student growth, sheds light on what is really happening from authorizer to authorizer – and hopefully affords the opportunity for the sector to share best practices and learn from mistakes along the way.”
