Emily Hatch, MPP
Senior Data and Policy Analyst
Emily Hatch is a Senior Data and Policy Analyst at The Education Trust – Midwest.
Emily initially became involved in education policy through work with the Education Policy Innovation Collaborative, while a student at Michigan State University. There she worked on research projects around Michigan Partnership Districts as well as Michigan’s Read by Grade Three law.
Emily comes to The Education Trust – Midwest from the House Fiscal Agency, where she worked as a Fiscal Analyst on the School Aid and Michigan Department of Education budgets. While in this role, she interacted with a wide range of education funding issues, and served as nonpartisan support for the Michigan Legislature.
A strong believer in the right of every person to receive a high quality public education, Emily holds a bachelors degree in Arts and Humanities and Political Science, as well as a Masters in Public Policy from Michigan State University.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her cat Homer, tending to her houseplants, and exploring Michigan’s natural areas.
