Da’Stanza Murphy, M.A.

Communications Manager

Da’Stanza Murphy, a communications manager at The Education Trust-Midwest, is a passionate communications professional with a decade of experience in public relations, marketing, and digital and social media management. 

At Wayne State University’s College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, Da’Stanza produced collegiate-level internal and external publications and led cross-departmental and university communications strategy. At Detroit Public Schools Community District, she was part of major enrollment and communications campaigns that directly contributed to stabilizing the district’s long-time enrollment decline. She also managed media opportunities with local and regional outlets, coordinating engagement efforts with several significant organizations.

Most recently, Da’Stanza led communications development and strategy – as well as rebranding and advancement efforts – for The War Memorial, a well-regarded cultural center and events space.

Outside of work, Da’Stanza is a creative through and through. She credits performing arts, artistry, and volunteerism as what fuels her drive and work ethic. Da’Stanza has been fervently involved in dance and is a mezzo-soprano Italian operatic. With her talents, she has taken countless stages for more than two decades through her ongoing work with pageantry.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a master’s degree in public relations and organizational communication from Wayne State University in Detroit.
